Important Information
~ Non-British passport holders may sometimes be required to provide the original invitation letter for business without a given reason
~ The non-commercial visa falls under the 'F' category visa.
~ It's important to enter China within the validity dates of the visa and abide by the number of days allowed for stay as stated on the visa. Some professions like Doctors, Priests, and Journalists may have restrictions on the duration of their trip, often limited to 12 days. People in these professions may also be required to provide a detailed day-to-day itinerary of their trip. Travelers should only apply for visas that cover stays up to 30 days, unless they have a written explanation for their longer stay.
~ To ensure the authenticity of the business invitation letter, the Chinese Embassy may contact the inviter and request a copy of the ID of the person who signed the invitation letter.
~ If there are discrepancies in the name, position or signature of the person who signed the invitation letter, the Embassy may reject the application, and the Embassy charges an administration fee for such rejections. To avoid this, including a copy of the inviters' Chinese ID card as an optional extra is recommended. Visa applications can be submitted no more than 3 months before the intended travel date.
~ If the applicant has a criminal record, they must provide a copy of the police report.
~ Additionally, for a temporary period, travelers must carry a copy of the business invitation letter that was used to obtain their business visa when traveling to China.
~ If applying at the visa centre in Manchester, it is necessary to complete the Declaration form provided in the downloadable pack, and provide a physical passport-sized photo like the one uploaded onto the visa form.
